As far back as I can remember art has always been very prominent in my family. We have photographers as well as sketch artists and painters. I’ve always loved art and photography, even though it’s only been recently that I’ve really begun to delve deeply into the world of macro photography, and I’m very much enjoying it!

Who or what inspires you to create?  My biggest inspiration is nature herself. Every single time I go out on a photo shoot I’m in awe of all the natural wonders and beauty that I find and this in itself keeps me inspired to go out almost every day on my little treasure hunts!

Who or what has been your greatest artistic influence?  It all started with my family and then expanded out to each and every artist I have contact with, whether in person or through the internet. I really believe in the idea of staying open to all artistic influences. I think it keeps you fresh as an artist.

When did you first start in your artistic field…and why? I’ve always had an interest in photography and have taken photos here and there for several years, but it’s only been about 2 years since I’ve been seriously working on artistic photography.

What do you want your viewers or readers to take with them?  I would love to make my viewers smile and become more interested in nature and in the creative process, whether it be in photography, art, poetry, or any other art medium. To inspire others is a wonderful blessing.

If you could have been a student of a great artist, writer, artisan or photographer, who would it be and why?  I would love to be a student of Vincent Van Gogh. Not only do you see the amazing fire and passion he had for the beauty and intensity of nature, but you can also feel it very strongly in his work and that’s exactly what I would love to acheive in my photography.

What advice do you have for beginners in your field?  Follow your natural instincts first, but also take the time to view as many visual works as possible to inspire and train your eye in the visual arts. I love to view art and photography every day! Also go out and shoot as often as possible, it really sharpens your vision and improves your technical skills.
